Description
LATELUX MS | Light-Cure Microhybrid Dental Composite
LATELUX MS is a condensable light-cure restorative composite designed for durable dental restorations. Dentists can use this microhybrid composite for Class I and Class II cavities, cosmetic restorations, stump build-ups for microprosthetics, and the fabrication of inlays.
Moreover, its radiopaque formulation helps dentists identify the material during radiographic examinations. The composite also combines high filler content with excellent handling properties, making it suitable for a range of restorative dental procedures.
Key Features of LATELUX MS Composite
- Low polymerization shrinkage: Offers a volumetric shrinkage of just 1.9–1.95%.
- High microhardness: Reaches up to 92 kg/mm² for durable restorations.
- High compressive strength: Provides diametral tensile strength of 59 MPa.
- Radiopaque formulation: Supports radiographic identification of restorations.
- High filler content: Contains 68.8% fillers by volume for strength and effective condensation.
- Smooth handling: Maintains good plasticity and does not stick to dental instruments.
- Light-curing technology: Cures under light with a wavelength of 400–500 nm.
Composition and Performance
LATELUX MS uses a microhybrid composite formulation that combines an oligoether acrylate binder with traditional LATELUX-family fillers. This formulation helps reduce polymerization shrinkage while maintaining strength and workable consistency.
Furthermore, the specialized mixing technology allows the manufacturer to achieve a high filler volume without compromising the paste’s plasticity. As a result, dentists can condense the material effectively into prepared cavities.
Under the specified test conditions, a 75 W curing lamp applied for 40 seconds achieves a curing depth of approximately 3.5–6 mm. Actual curing performance may vary depending on the light-curing unit, shade, and clinical technique.
Adhesion and Clinical Applications
LATELUX MS offers good transparency, except in opaque shades, which helps support natural-looking dental restorations. In addition, the Monotex single-component dentine-enamel light-curing adhesive, supplied as part of the system kit, supports adhesion to cushion cement, phosphoric-acid-etched enamel, and dentine.
For dentine bonding, the manufacturer specifies the use of a special dentine primer.
Dentists can use LATELUX MS for:
- Class I and Class II cavity restorations.
- Cosmetic and aesthetic dental restorations.
- Stump build-ups for microprosthetic procedures.
- Fabrication of inlays.
- Restorations requiring a radiopaque composite material.
Packaging
- Quantity: 5 g syringe of composite paste.
